6/7/8 Spring Musical- Music Director for Middle School Program
The Shelburne Community School is seeking a part time Drama / Musical Director to work with the current Artistic Team on their next musical production.
The Music Director’s role includes rehearsing a chorus, soloists, dancers, and selecting and teaching the musical recordings.
Responsibilities include working directly with the Director and Choreographer from auditions in early February through the performances of the show at the end of May (exact date will be shared by mid- January). They will be responsible for learning the music for the selected musical, and be capable of directing and teaching audio file recordings.
Rehearsals are typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and sometimes Friday from 3-4:30 pm. Rehearsals will go until 5pm mid-April. The show is scheduled for late May, which includes evening and weekend performances. The Musical Director will also be expected to attend production team meetings before auditions. Additionally, the Music Director will assist the Director with communications to parents regarding volunteer needs for props, costumes and any other miscellaneous production needs.
