Gardener

Job Type: Seasonal (April-October)

Department: Landscape and Grounds

Hours: 32-40 Hours/Week

Salary Range: $18.00/hour

Seasonal Gardener is responsible for a wide range of gardens both on the Museum’s campus and the Brick House property in Shelburne, VT. Ultimately, ensuring the gardens and green spaces are healthy and beautiful.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Watering and feeding plants

· Mulch, edge, and weed garden spaces

· Prune and trim shrubs and bushes

· Monitor overall health of the plants

· Installation and maintenance of new plants

· Assist with Spring and Fall cleanups on the grounds

· Keeps gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter

· Assist with other landscaping duties as needed and work with garden volunteers

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent, 1 year of similar, satisfactory work experience is a plus

· Must be 18 years old or older

· Valid drivers license and clean driving record

· Positive attitude, flexible, collaborative, attends to detail and shows initiative;

Working Conditions:

· Ability to lift, carry, and push tools and equipment weighing 50 pounds

· Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions and do rigorous labor for extended periods of time

· May need to interact with museum visitors

· Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

Compensation and Benefits:
