A Little Bit About the Position
Are you ready to make a direct impact in workers' compensation billing? As an EDR Specialist on our Economic Cycle team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring prompt payment through accurate billing, resolving discrepancies, and addressing objections. Your role will involve issuing compliant invoices, engaging with carriers, and ensuring full compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards. You’ll also stay updated on California workers' compensation laws and collaborate with key stakeholders to efficiently process claims.

Candidates for this role may be considered for either a Specialist I or Specialist II designation, based on their relevant experience and qualifications.

Specialist I :
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- 1-3 years of experience in the workers’ compensation field required
- Compensation : $19.23-$25.96 / hour
Specialist II :
High School diploma or equivalent required3 years of experience in the workers’ compensation field requiredCompensation : $21.63-$28.37 / hourRequirements
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High School diploma or equivalent is required1 years of experience in the workers compensation field, especially with a focus on workers' compensation copy service billing, strongly preferredExperience using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plusExcellent written communication skills, including proof-reading, syntax, and grammarTyping speed of at least 35 WPM with 90% accuracyProblem solving skillsKeen attention to detailAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamGeneral computation skills, including the use of a calculatorAbility to learn new tasks within Litigation Support and Accounts Receivable as neededProficiency in workers’ compensation terminology and copy service workers' compensation billing codesFamiliarity with insurance and legal terminology related to workers' compensation claimsKnowledge of California's workers' compensation system, including its rules, regulations, and fee schedulesUnderstanding of the necessary documentation and paperwork required for workers' compensation billingProficient using a computer, business phone, office software, video conferencing, and other computer programs including Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, etc.), Microsoft applications, EAMS, Daisy Bill, and MerusCaseExperience with project management software such as Asana preferredFamiliarity with spreadsheet and database software for data entry, tracking, and managing billing and objection dataFUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
