Position Summary
Works under direct supervision to perform semi-skilled work in a skilled environment.
Pay Grade: 41H
Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education
Minimum Qualifications
1. Two (2) years of work experience preferably in an outdoor environment; AND
2. High school diploma or a GED.
3. Experience in a vector control program is preferred.
4. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Performs semi-skilled tasks in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, maintenance, painting, or other related areas.
2. Assist journeymen by performing tasks of a lesser skill.
3. Holds material and tools to assist journeyman/craftsman with various stages and phases of work.
4. Transports supplies and equipment to labor sites, loads, and unloads materials, cleans equipment and vehicles.
5. Uses hand tools and power equipment assigned to perform such work as cutting holes in walls and floors, cutting pipe threads, running electrical lines, and all other tasks as directed.
6. Performs other related duties as required or directed.

2. Ability to communicate verbally with the supervisor.
3. Physical ability to perform assigned work tasks.
4. Ability to follow instructions and learn techniques commonly used in construction or building maintenance.
5. Ability to cooperate and work with other personnel.
6. Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and public citizens.
7. Knowledge of the use of hand tools and power equipment.
Physical Requirement
Requires heavy lifting up to 90 pounds, pulling, climbing, stooping, bending, standing for a long time, etc. while performing the essential job duties.
Special Requirements
1. Some of the temporary positions may require working at multiple locations if needed.
2. May require a valid Tennessee Driver’s license or secure one upon date of employment.
3. If a driver’s license is required, must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet county requirements for automobile insurance upon the date of employment.
4. Must submit to and pass drug and alcohol screening.
