EFFECTIVE DATE: 2025-2026 School Year
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned
- Teaches using district-approved curriculum maps aligned with Indiana State Standards.
- Develops and delivers daily lesson plans that incorporate best instructional practices as outlined in school
improvement plans and professional development initiatives.
- Uses the district-approved scope and sequence for lesson planning and data analysis.
- Attends assigned professional development and effectively implements learned strategies.
- Designs age-appropriate instructional materials that foster student engagement and learning.
- Provides individualized and small-group instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Maintains an “effective” or “highly effective” rating in the SCS Teacher Evaluation.
- Assists in developing and evaluating curriculum maps.
- Participates in the textbook adoption process.
- Regularly analyzes data to inform instructional decisions.
- Evaluates student academic and social growth, maintains accurate records, and prepares progress reports.
- Administers required assessments per Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) guidelines and complies
with testing security policies.
- Keeps students and parents informed of academic progress and behavioral expectations.
- Identifies student needs, makes appropriate referrals, and implements accommodations/interventions per
IEPs, ILPs, 504 Plans, or MTSS Plans.
- Creates an organized, engaging learning environment with functional displays and student work exhibits.
- Integrates technology for instruction, communication, and classroom management.
- Establishes and maintains high standards of student behavior to promote a positive learning atmosphere.
- Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written English communication.
- Maintains open and timely communication with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
- Collaborates with instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers in the classroom, school events, and field
trips.
- Upholds knowledge of and compliance with corporation and school policies.
- Completes clerical tasks and reports related to job responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance.
- Adheres to Corporation Bylaws, Policies, and the Employee Handbook.
- Models the Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives.
