Reporting directly to the maintenance coordinator, the Level 1 Building and Grounds Maintenance Person is responsible for ensuring the upkeep and safety of school buildings and surrounding grounds. This role involves performing various maintenance tasks to maintain a clean, organized, and functional environment conducive to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing and painting walls, fixing plumbing issues, and replacing light fixtures.
2. Conduct inspections of facilities and grounds to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
3. Assist with landscaping duties, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and planting flowers.
4. Handle essential carpentry work such as repairing doors, windows, and furniture.
5. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and administrators.
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
7. Operate and maintain maintenance equipment and tools properly.
8. Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter months.
9. Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and report any shortages.
10. Collaborate with other maintenance team members to complete projects efficiently.
