Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supermarket Market Manager to oversee the operations of our Shelter Island location. Shelter Island, IGA is a seasonal supermarket between Memorial Day -Labor Day, but we are open for business all year.
As a Supermarket Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of the entire store. This is a dynamic role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Duties
- Manage and supervise the entire store
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and achieve revenue targets
- Recruit, train, and supervise dept. managers and all supermarket clerks.
- Monitor store performance and provide guidance and support as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards
- Regularly assess operations, merchandising, and customer service
- Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee stock replenishment processes
- Resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely and satisfactory manner
Skills
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in supervising a supermarket
- Proven track record in supermarket management
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with employees and customers
- Ability to recruit, train, and motivate a diverse team of supermarket clerks
- Proficiency in retail math to analyze sales data, track performance, and make informed decisions
- Multilingual skills are a plus
