Support Center Analyst I $19.25 / hour minimum starting pay Job Level: Individual Contributor What You Will Be Doing: Assist Shelter employees and agents in the Home Office and Field with computer system questions and problems. Maintain current knowledge of software from a variety of vendors used by Shelter Insurance, including mainframe and PC applications. Maintain current knowledge of data communications equipment, personal computers, and printers. Answer questions pertaining to the use of Shelter online and PC applications. Use problem management software for use in tracking trends and future problem resolution. Training period work hours: M-F 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Upon completion of training period, the work shift times rotate between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. What We're Looking For: Ability to understand mainframe, network and personal computer hardware and software, and their inter-relationships to provide end-users with technical assistance. Superior oral and written communication skills, particularly the ability to listen, understand and explain technical information to people with non-technical backgrounds. Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills. Willing to research and troubleshoot application and hardware issues, which includes documenting the problem/resolution in the problem management software, escalating the problem if required and managing all problems to closure. Data processing experience and/or providing experience to users of data processing services. Ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge obtained through participation in in-house courses, vendor seminars and industry conferences to stay abreast of the latest knowledge about data processing environments.
