Sheltering Arms Institute is currently seeking a Patient Information Specialist to join our team. The Patient Information Specialist is responsible to support the coordination of payment for services provided to all patients from registration to discharge. The Patient Information Specialist is accountable for providing information to, and maintaining relationships with, third party payers to obtain necessary benefit information, which will enhance the optimal outcome to the patient in the most efficient manner. Serves as a central area for patient registration information to pass, the Patient Information Specialist will assist staff as a whole. This includes communication to necessary parties (including patients) insurance changes in names, benefits, and procedures to maximize reimbursement.

Successful Candidates Will Possess
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree in related area strongly preferred
- 1-2 years related experience and/or training specifically related to insurance benefits and verification processes
- Knowledge of insurance and billing requirements, including CPT and ICD-9 coding for HCFA 1500 and UB-92 forms, medical terminology, pre-existing, coordination of benefits and Medicare
- Strong computer skills
