Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our educational team. Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Support students in their daily activities, including academic tasks, social interactions, and personal care.
- Help develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Foster a positive learning environment by managing classroom behavior and promoting engagement.
- Collaborate with teachers to plan lessons and educational activities tailored to individual student needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and challenges.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to special education.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in a classroom setting or special education environment, is preferred.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and curriculum development for students with diverse learning needs.
- Skills in classroom management techniques that promote a supportive educational atmosphere.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students of varying abilities.
- Experience in lesson planning that accommodates different learning styles is a plus.
- A background in toddler care or early childhood education can be beneficial for those working with younger students.
