What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director - Victim Witness Program (Part-Time) position at Shenandoah County?
The Shenandoah County Victim/Witness Program is seeking candidates to fill a part-time Assistant Director/Advocate position for the Victim/Witness Program. The Advocate performs crisis intervention, advocacy and case management duties for victims of crime. The position is housed in the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Essential Job Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. The County provides reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary functions herein described.
- Provides criminal justice process and victims’ rights information.
- Sends out correspondence to victims at various stages of the criminal justice process.
- Assists victims with filing claims with the Virginia Victims Fund.
- Assists victims with the submission of Victim Impact Statements and restitution.
- Assists with grant applications and progress reports.
- Enters and maintains accurate client and program records.
Education and Experience
This position requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and work experience in a related field; experience in the criminal justice process or crisis intervention.
Licenses or Certifications
Possession of an appropriate commercial driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must submit to a criminal background check and a child protective services check.
The hourly pay for this FLSA Non-Exempt position is 14.00 per hour commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
