FUNCTION: Responsible for the overall management, leadership, growth, and profitability of the senior living community. The Executive Director’s responsibilities are to the residents, their team members, and the financial well-being of the community. The Executive Director plans, develops, directs, monitors and supports all operational, administrative, clinical, human resources, customer service and fiscal activities for the facility’s programs and services so as to ensure quality and consistency with company standards. Actively promotes the Company’s Mission, Philosophies and Values in all daily interactions. Develops and maintains positive interactive partnerships with the Sona Senior Living Network.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS: Successful management experience in retirement housing. Proven skills of leadership, communication, and knowledge of local, state and federal regulations. Ability to relate to residents, families, visitors, clients, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Freedom from illegal use of drugs.

· Freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

· Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in the position.

· Demonstrates effective time management skills.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of leadership experience in senior housing or other hospitality industry desired. The Regional Director of Operations may waive this experience dependent upon other factors present in employment history. Successful leadership and marketing skills required. Must be able to handle conflict, problems and emergency situations. Must be able to assure housing and services to residents on a continual basis. Ability to manage the business office, marketing, food service, maintenance functions, activity programs, housekeeping, transportation and assisted living services (when required by licensure of the facility.) A commercial drivers license (CDL) may be required.

The Executive Director has direct responsibility for developing and adhering to financial plans, preparing reports and building strong employee, customer and community relations.

Related skills are: dedication to the well-being of seniors, excellent written and oral communication skills, good computer skills such as spreadsheet, Word documents and Power Point, high energy level and the ability to handle multiple priorities is a must.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary setting with Residents, families, staff members, representatives of community and government agencies.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers, calculate percentage of whole, measure in cubic centimeters (cc) and measure in feet and inches. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, length, and height.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to solve problems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for operations and marketing of the community.

2. Applies sound fiscal management skills to:

a. Development, management, and adherence to the budget.

b. Timely, accurate, comprehensive fiscal reports.

c. Approves all capital expenditures.

d. Insures the collection of rents and other monies due.

e. Insures the submission of payment of accounts payable.

f. Negotiates professional contracts within corporate guidelines.

3. Manages the selection, employment, development, control, training, and discharge of employees to meet the needs of the community. Ensures that all employees are screened according to regulations. Establishes appropriate delegation of duties of all team members.

4. Fosters a smooth functioning, efficient operation through timely and effective resolution of grievances from residents, families and/or staff.

5. Prepares and presents periodic reports as required by regulatory agencies and the Company such as, but not limited to:

a. Notifications to local, state and federal agencies as required by law.

b. Operations reports.

c. Financial variance reports.

d. Monthly summary reports.

e. Quarterly reports.

f. Ensures all Quality Assurance Standards are met.

g. Assists in strategic planning for both short and long term goals.

6. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing the community by continually monitoring the operation of each service area and making changes as needed.

7. Demonstrates strong working knowledge of computers and appropriate software.

8. Provides positive public relations and assists the Marketing Director with clients, events, outreach and closing sales.

9. Keeps Regional Director of Operations informed of activities, needs and problems.

10. Available for consultation and response to community needs, which could mean evenings, nights and weekends, seven days per week.

11. Ensure the provision of appropriate services to meet residents’ needs.

12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Director of Operations.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Demonstrates active listening techniques, gains support through effective relationships, treats others with dignity and respect and seeks feedback.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: Attends in-service and education programs and attends continuing education required for maintenance of professional certification or licensure. Develop and maintain professional affiliations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to communicate verbally with an excellent comprehension of the English language. Ability to see with reasonable acuity and appropriate accommodation, full field of vision and be able to distinguish depth. Ability to move about with reasonable accommodation, reach, turn, twist, touch and bend. Ability to hear normal noise levels with accommodation and tolerate occasional loud noises.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
