Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is seeking a junior Energy Associate to join our prestigious Real Estate, Energy, Land Use & Environmental practice group. This is a great opportunity for junior to mid-level attorneys with 2-4 years of significant energy law experience, including regulatory compliance and renewable energy transactions. Our team is engaged in a variety of sophisticated matters, playing a key role in upholding and advancing our firm's profile within the energy sector.
Qualifications:
Must be admitted to practice law in Washington D.C. or California, or have the capability to be admitted promptly in either jurisdiction.
2-4 years of focused experience in energy law, with particular strength in renewable energy projects, regional transmission organizations and regulatory compliance. Natural gas pipeline experience is a plus.
Experience with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) preferred.
Proven track record of effective teamwork as well as the ability to manage responsibilities independently.
Outstanding research, writing, and communication skills.
Committed to maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the latest trends and developments in the energy sector.
Preferred Skills:
Substantial experience with federal regulatory matters within the energy industry.
A background in the energy sector.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The salary range for this position is $235,000 - $365,000.
