Program Manager – Interpreter Services
Location: Walnut Creek, CA 94598
Shift: 8-hour day shifts (40 hrs/week)
Duration: 13 weeks
Pay range: $55/hr to $58/hr
Job Overview:
The Program Manager – Interpreter Services is responsible for overseeing and improving John Muir Health’s language access program to ensure effective communication for patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement language access policies for legal compliance.
- Manage vendor contracts and program budgets.
- Oversee phone, video, and in-person interpreter services.
- Train staff on Interpreter Services protocols.
- Ensure accurate translation of patient forms and materials.
- Collect and analyze data on interpreter service usage.
- Resolve patient and staff concerns related to communication access.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s in Business Administration or related field (Preferred).
- Experience: 3-5 years in Interpreter Services (Healthcare setting required).
- Languages: Fluency in English and at least one additional language.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- CHI (Certified Healthcare Interpreter) – CCHI
- CMI (Certified Medical Interpreter) – NBCMI
- Other healthcare interpreting certificate
Skills:
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology & healthcare systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Windows, etc.).
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $55.00 - $58.00 per hour

License/Certification:
