Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sales Catering Manager to join our team. As a Sales Catering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our catering operations, including sales, event planning, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and account management, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. The position is accountable for proactively soliciting and handling catering sales opportunities. Conducts day-to-day activities related to catering sales with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales objectives. Plan and coordinate all event details.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc.) while maximizing banquet space.
- Execute a marketing strategy to capture the maximum amount of revenue and meet/exceed sales goals.
- Plan, upsell and detail the meeting/function with the client including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations, etc. Complete the contracts, prepare the appropriate paperwork, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel, and resolve any issues, complaints and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Proactively builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
- Activities could include sales calls, entertainment.
- Upsells each business opportunity to maximize revenue potential.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate/hotel procedures and products and the competition’s product, strengths and weaknesses to continually improve sales strategies and the achievement of goals.
- Organized, team oriented and proficient in multi-tasking.
- Maintain daily on-site contact with in-house clients to ensure guest satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Attend BEO and catering meetings.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Finalize agendas for groups and utilize meeting space to its fullest potential.
- Finalize meeting room setup with all audio visual and special requirements.
- Finalize all menus, including specialized menus, with the approval of the Executive Chef.
- Perform outside sales and telemarketing calls to solicit catering events.
- Conduct site inspections pertinent to the business at hand.
- Participate in appropriate pre-event and post-event meetings.
- Insures proper coverage of every coordinated event, generally present at them.
- Utilizes CI/TY for the creation of all necessary documentation for all events.
- Participates in professional organizations to promote the resort.
- Reasonable requests by management, guest or vendor in order to satisfy the needs and overall success of the resort.
- Organized, team oriented and proficient in multi-tasking.
- Partner with the Food and Beverage Team to ensure a smooth transition from sales to service of events.
- Projects, tasks, or other responsibilities as necessary.
