- Lead and Manage Teams: Supervise the revenue cycle team, including billing, collections, authorizations, and accounts receivable, while effectively supporting external stakeholders.
- Build Strategic Relationships: Cultivate partnerships with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and private insurance payors.
- Analyze and Improve Performance: Develop performance metrics for gross revenue, discount rates, and collection efficiency.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with clinical and operational teams to align revenue cycle processes with organizational objectives.
- Optimize Claims and Authorizations: Work closely with the team to address claim denials and ensure timely and accurate processing of authorizations and insurance claims.
- Hire and Retain Talent: Recruit, train, and retain skilled staff to maintain a high-performing revenue cycle team.
- Maximize Revenue: Drive initiatives to maximize payment collection from all sources and accurately forecast cash receipts.
- Evaluate and Enhance Operations: Assess current practices, provide recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes to boost efficiency.
- Ensure Accountability: Maintain robust accounting and internal control systems.
- Promote Patient Respect: Uphold the dignity and respect of patients in all payment-related interactions.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 5-8 years of experience in revenue cycle management, healthcare billing, or medical coding, with a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role.
- Preferred certifications, such as Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent credentials.
