We are seeking a skilled and adaptable HR Generalist for a short-term contract to provide coverage during an employee leave. This 6-week assignment requires a self-starter who can hit the ground running and support day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in HR practices, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and general HR matters
- Support employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes
- Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity within the HRIS system
- Assist with benefits administration and vendor coordination
- Support compliance with employment laws and internal policies
- Provide administrative support for employee relations and performance management documentation
- Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely employee updates
- 5 years of HR Generalist experience
- Strong working knowledge of HR practices and employment laws
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday, ADP, BambooHR, etc.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
Sherpa offers benefits to contract employees who meet the following criteria:
- Must be a full-time employee (30 weekly hours/ 130 hours per month) to be eligible
- Medical plan offered is BCBSNC Blue Options PPO
- Premiums will be pre-taxed
- Sherpa pays a portion of the Employee only premium for medical
- 90 day waiting period from date of hire
- Medical, Dental, and Vision plans
