We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Billing Specialist to join our client's team. This role will handle all aspects of legal billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client guidelines while also managing accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in a law firm or professional services environment and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
- Prepare, review, and process client invoices in accordance with firm policies and client agreements.
- Ensure billing compliance with legal guidelines and resolve any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to track billable hours and expenses.
- Submit invoices through e-billing systems and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Generate billing reports and maintain accurate financial records.
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper approvals.
- Code and enter invoices into the accounting system for timely payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and assist with month-end closing.
- Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries regarding payments.
- Minimum 2-5 years of legal billing and accounts payable experience.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience with legal billing software.
- Prior work in a law firm or legal department is highly preferred.
