SUMMARY:
The Truck Loader 1 is an entry-level position responsible for performing basic material handling tasks under supervision. This role primarily focuses on assisting with the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently. Truck Loader 1 associates are expected to learn and follow standard operating procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and support senior team members with daily operations. This position offers a starting point for growth into more advanced truck loader roles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Material Transport & Handling:
- Operate basic warehouse equipment, including forklifts, under supervision.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks, ensuring items are safely handled and stored.
- Move materials to designated staging areas, maintaining organization throughout the process.

Order Preparation & Fulfillment:
- Help stage products for shipment and loading, ensuring they are ready for processing.
- Assist in basic packaging tasks such as wrapping, banding, and securing materials for transit.

Inventory Management:
- Assist in inventory management tasks such as labeling, sorting, and organizing materials.
- Help with stock placement, ensuring items are stored in appropriate locations within the yard.

Quality Control & Safety Compliance:
- Follow basic safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized work area to reduce hazards and increase efficiency.

Worksite Maintenance:
- Perform light cleaning and maintenance duties in the warehouse and yard, including sweeping and organizing materials.
- Ensure the work area is free from debris and that tools and equipment are stored properly.

Training & Development:
- Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills in material handling, equipment operation, and safety compliance.
- Learn company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with standard operational practices.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- No prior experience required; however, experience in warehouse or yard operations is a plus.

Certifications:
- Forklift Certification (provided by employer upon hire).

Skills:
- Basic knowledge of material handling and warehouse equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks under supervision.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
