Salary commensurate with experience: $70,000k to $75,000k / Non-Exempt
Full Time: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Hybrid - Remote & Office / Field

SHIELDS’ mission is to develop, deliver and evaluate culturally sensitive, comprehensive service models that empower and advocate for high-risk families in South Los Angeles.
The Therapist provides crisis intervention, intake assessment, individual, family and group therapy to adults, children and families with a history of mental illness. This includes coordinating support services to assist clients with independent living. The Therapist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining documentation of client services within clients’ charts, ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures, Department of Mental Health contract and other related agencies’ standards and guidelines.
CMH 0-21 program provides a full range of mental health services by SHIELDS’ clinicians specifically trained to work with this population. Our clinicians are trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and participate in ongoing research. SHIELDS integrates services into other programs, including Healthy Start, Welcome Baby, Home Visitation, and Substance Abuse Treatment programs through our Child Development Center.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Master’s Degree-Registered or licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an ACSW, AMFT, APCC, LMFT, LCSW or LPCC.
- Two years of experience working with individuals with a history of mental illness in a social service/mental health environment.
- A valid California driver's license is required for this position, as driving is an essential function of the role and is required for field work, client crisis response and emergencies. A valid car insurance and registration is required.
- DMH documentation and EXYM experience a plus.
- COVID-19 vaccination required. May request medical or religious exemption if applicable.
