LOCATION: Remote
HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
A. PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Revenue Cycle Specialist provides the necessary functions to bill, collect, analyze, and adjudicate billing and collection functions for all clinical services.
B. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides the necessary functions to bill, collect, analyze, and adjudicate billing and collection functions for all clinical services. The position executes and performs programs to insure efficient operations of the SHCG Revenue Cycle program in order to generate sufficient cash flow to support SHCG operations and strategic initiatives. In the position of Revenue Cycle Specialist responsibilities include billing and collecting for all third party insurance payers adjustment functions, adjudicating, identifying, analyzing, reducing and resolving revenue enhancement. This position works with external physicians groups and insurance companies or third party brokers as well as working with SHCG CCR and PCR staff.
C. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
D. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience dealing with various customer groups, including doctors.
Experience with medical billing; including the authorization process, benefit plans, denials and billing follow up.
Ability to handle confidential material; be detail oriented; and follow through on multiple items.
Must be enthusiastic, able to multi task and master the efficient use of multiple technological systems. A cooperative spirit and great customer service skills are essential.
Knowledge of medical billing or prior company experience required
E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time while performing the data entry function. Must be able to effectively communicate via telephone and fax.
F. INTERNAL/EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:
This position requires extensive interaction with co-workers, patients, insurance companies and the professional community.
