Electrical Division
Since the early 1990s, Shimmick has been self-performing electrical scopes for infrastructure projects. Shimmick offers electrical, instrumentation, and process controls expertise for water and wastewater treatment; dams and locks; mass transit and rail; alternative energy; power generation and transmission; and commercial building projects. Our ability to self-perform this specialty work offers additional value and enables us to better control cost and schedule for projects with major electrical and process mechanical scopes. Our clients include municipalities, water districts, sanitation districts, transit agencies, private developers, DOTs, and USACE.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Managing project implementation including schedule, budgets, quality and safety
- Resource planning and management - including managing company resources assigned to the project as well as third party vendors, designers, fabricators and contractors
- Direct the efforts of the full engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction management, and commissioning team in creating the execution plans, organization, and contracts needed to deliver the project within the stated cost and schedule
- Continue to build a positive relationship with highly important & strategic clients who have significant future work in the area
- Preparing and issuing Progress Reports and ensuring timely payments
- Monitoring compliance with various regulatory statues as well as compliance with applicable Shimmick policies and procedures
- Project stakeholder management and interface
- Creation and implementation of Project Updates – Job Status Reports and Quarterly EAC Reports
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with mechanical and/or electrical systems
Heavy Civil Construction project experience
Power Distribution and Instrumentation & Controls experience
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, environmental compliance, and safety standards (e.g., OSHA).
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities to motivate cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Experience in conflict resolution and negotiating with vendors, clients, and subcontractors.
- Decision-making skills under pressure.

The salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $145,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
