Job Summary:
The Chemical Engineering Intern is responsible for supporting the engineering and maintenance department with various responsibilities at the site.
Duties & Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
- Participate in risk assessments and evaluate mitigation measures using HAZOP methods.
- Aid in assessing current processes establishing baselines, documenting and interpreting parameters.
- Make recommendations and follow up on improvements to existing processes, new products, and/or parameters.
- Work with the maintenance department to design, test, and upgrade equipment as well as the CMMS. This includes the collection and entry of data.
- Audit and update process documentation across the site
- Execute mechanical integrity, process control, quality, and 5S initiatives across the site
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Education & Experience:
- Pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate (verbal and written) effectively.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Willing and able to take calls during off hours.
Work Environment:
- This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with varied amounts of time on the production floor.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
