We are currently seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team and support our attorneys in handling a diverse caseload.
Position Overview
The Litigation Paralegal will assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigation to trial preparation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and has a proven ability to manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review.
- Organize, review, and manage discovery materials, including documents, exhibits, and evidence.
- Prepare and coordinate subpoenas, depositions, and witness interviews.
- Maintain litigation calendars, including deadlines for filings, hearings, and court dates.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and provide case updates.
- Assist in preparing trial notebooks, exhibits, and courtroom presentations.
- File court documents electronically and manage case files.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on litigation.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent education preferred.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
- Experience with e-filing systems (e.g., state and federal court systems).
- Proficient in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with personal injury cases is a plus.
- Experience with trial preparation and courtroom support.
- Bilingual (e.g., Korean, Spanish) is a plus but not required.
