Duties
- Provide personal care services such as bathing, grooming, and dressing to clients.
- Assist with daily living activities including meal preparation, medication reminders, and mobility support.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities to promote mental stimulation.
- Monitor clients' physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with memory care needs through specialized techniques tailored for dementia or Alzheimer’s patients.
- Uphold resident rights by respecting privacy and dignity at all times.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
Skills
- Experience or training in hospice care, memory care, or home health services is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for client needs effectively.
- Proficiency in first aid techniques to respond promptly to emergencies.
- Understanding of social work principles as they relate to caregiving.
- Ability to assist clients with mobility challenges, including lifting when necessary.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
