What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assisted Living Home Provider Male Staff (Live-in) Wasilla position at Shine Bright Care?
Basic Function: Manage and support an assisted living home, ensuring client well-being and compliance with state and federal regulations. Supervise and train staff, manage finances, and provide daily living support and community inclusion opportunities.
Hours: Live-in position from as shifts for example would be Friday 9:00 AM to Monday 9:00 AM. Private quarters provided rent-free. Salary includes anticipated overtime.
Essential Duties:
- Clean residence and prompt residents for laundry.
- Develop and implement Individual Support Plans.
- Provide direct care in daily activities (e.g., finances, shopping, meal prep, bathing).
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the home and vehicle.
- Implement goals from Individual Support Plans.
- Support residents in daily living activities and skill development.
- Plan and execute meaningful activities.
Food and Medication:
- Shop for groceries and supplies.
- Develop healthy menus.
- Administer medications and schedule appointments.
- Pick up/drop off prescriptions.
Transportation:
- Transport residents to activities and appointments.
Care of Residents:
- Assist with daily living activities.
- Implement policies and procedures.
- Check water temperature weekly.
- Sign Medication & Administration Records daily.
- Log group home notes daily.
- Notify Case Manager of appointments.
- Conduct monthly fire drills.
- Manage daily operations.
- Train new staff.
- Ensure resident safety and care.
- Maintain records and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA laws.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Understanding of common illnesses and conditions.

Qualifications:
- Minimum age 21.
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience.
- Two years of experience with developmental disabilities or challenging behaviors.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Meet state requirements (7 AAC 125.010 – 7 AAC 125.199).
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Valid driver's license with three years of driving experience.
- First Aid certification.
- Complete 18 hours of annual training.
- Maintain agency compliance.
Work Environment:
- Extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Indoors in a home setting and out in the community as needed.
