About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator/Programmer to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of Trumpf laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts that meet our customers’ specifications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Trumpf lasers, a sharp eye for detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines efficiently and accurately to meet production and quality standards
- Program Trumpf laser systems both online and offline using TruTops and CATIA software
- Perform machine start-up and shutdown procedures following standard protocols
- Retrieve, load, and edit CNC programs; ensure correct gases, nozzles, and materials are used for each job
- Diagnose and resolve machining problems, adjusting programs and processes as necessary
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision tools to ensure compliance with blueprints and specifications
- Complete work according to job travelers and work instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding issues or process improvements
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- 2–5 years of experience operating Trumpf laser machines in a manufacturing environment
- 1 years experience programming with TruTops/CATIA
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong understanding of laser setup, material handling, and laser cutting best practices
- Experience working with tight tolerances and quality standards
- Ability to follow production schedules and written instructions
- Basic math skills and familiarity with measuring tools
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good attendance and punctuality
Preferred:
- Training or coursework in laser operation and setup
- Experience with rotary cutting applications
- Familiarity with quality inspection processes and preventive maintenance routines
