Job Summary and Qualifications
The diagnostic sonographer is a skilled person qualified by academic and clinical training to provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound under the supervision of a physician responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures. The sonographer may be involved with the patients of the physicians in any medical setting of which the physician is responsible.
Position Name: Sonographer
Shift Details: Nights (rotating weekends): Thursday - Sunday (9p - 7a)
Shift Schedule: 4x10
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic sonography procedures to assess patient conditions, utilizing knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to aseptic techniques during examinations.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and provide reassurance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results and support patient care.
- Ensure compliance with medical terminology and documentation standards in all imaging reports.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography and related fields.
Requirements:
· 3-6 Months of Sonographer experience required (Acute care experience is not required)
· Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days
· Certificate, or Associate Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound
· ARDMS registry or ARRT (S)
· Registered Vascular Specialist, or Vascular Sonography, or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33.72 - $40.77 per hour
