Position Summary:
SHINE Support Services is seeking compassionate and dependable Supported Living Staff to join our team in Old Fort, NC. In this role, you will provide personalized care and support to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) in their homes and community. Our goal is to help individuals live as independently as possible while maintaining safety, dignity, and meaningful engagement in daily life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and household tasks
- Assist individuals in participating in community events, appointments, recreational activities, and employment
- Promote independence by supporting personal goals, communication, and self-advocacy
- Follow individualized service plans and behavior support strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation, including service notes, medication logs, and incident reports
- Utilize crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques when needed
- Work closely with families, guardians, and SHINE’s interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care
- Ensure a safe, clean, and respectful living environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years old (21 preferred)
- Must be able to pass a background check and a Health Care Personnel Registry check
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required
- Reliable transportation and acceptable driving record
- Prior experience with I/DD population or direct care preferred but not required
- Willingness to complete all required trainings, including CPR/First Aid, NCI, and Medication Administration
