Process Technician (CRT Operator)
The Process Technician is a key role at Shintech, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our PVC resin production facility. This individual will work closely with contract partners to monitor overall plant production, troubleshoot disruptions, and provide critical support to maintain high-quality output.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in control room operations, monitoring alarms and verifying proper recipes and ingredients.
2. Change lot numbers at the beginning of each run and verify with the lab.
3. Monitor control activities at all times and ensure operators are aware of necessary ingredients and amounts.
4. Maintain production rates and perform tasks such as Pelletizing/Compounding startup/shutdown, clean downs, and logging data.
5. Operate and maintain stationary equipment and mechanical equipment.
6. Inspect process areas for abnormal situations, take corrective action, and report incidents to management.
7. Maintain records of occurrences, downtime, and reasons on log sheets.
8. Produce packaging yield reports after each box run.
9. Perform shift reliefs and documented plant checks at least once per shift.
10. Direct contractors safely and professionally, collaborate with maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation departments, and notify management of problems as they arise.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED equivalent and one year of experience in chemical manufacturing are required. An Associate's Degree in Process Technology or a related field may be substituted for experience. Additionally, the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Basic Industrial Fire Fighting Skills certification annually and participate in the K-Bin/Shintech Fire Brigade.
