Who we are looking for:
ShipEX is searching for an enthusiastic Business Development Representative to join our team and support business growth. You’ll need strong organizational skills to turn customer prospects into qualified leads. We require at least 1 year of Trucking/Transportation sales experience to ensure your success.
Primary Focus & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Business Development Rep are listed below, including but not limited to:
- Generate qualified leads for the sales team so they can provide a quick response to customers
- Prospect potential customers via cold calling, email, or other forms of communication to ensure they are added to the sales pipeline and produce more qualified leads
- Maintain the client database to make sure the sales team can access current information on all leads
- Work within your specific geography to find new business opportunities
- Record monthly and quarterly sales and performance goals to ensure they are being met
- Effective communication with customers/leads is crucial
- Handle a high volume of inbound/outbound emails
- Monitor emails (both internal and external) to ensure communication is being handled professionally and in a timely manner
- Communication must be prompt and clear with all audiences (customer and internal personnel)
- Responsible to maintain workflow in a fast-paced environment and keep up to date within set deadlines
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- 1 year of experience required
- Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service regulations a strong plus, but not required
- Computer and technology proficiency: Microsoft Office, Chrome, Outlook, etc. and an ability to type at least 55 WPM
- Excellent attendance is essential for this position to be successful

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary
- Capable of sitting at a desk for extended periods of time
- Must be fluent in English.
- Must speak in a clear and professional voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities
