Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Aquatics Director in managing all aspects of aquatic operations and lifeguard supervision.
- Assist with daily attraction operations including opening/closing procedures, staffing, water testing, and safety inspections.
- Help coordinate lifeguard training and certification in compliance with StarGuard Elite standards.
- Assist in conducting in-service trainings, audits, emergency drills, and performance reviews.
- Ensure consistent adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Maintain documentation for training records, certifications, and incident reports.
- Monitor the condition of safety equipment, waterpark gear, and water quality systems, escalating concerns as needed.
- Respond promptly to guest or team member incidents, supporting proper care, reporting, and follow-up.
- Help with scheduling, labor tracking, and budget considerations in collaboration with the Aquatics Director.
- Promote high guest service standards and support team morale and performance in aquatic areas.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of aquatics team members.
- Lead by example in maintaining a positive, professional, and inclusive workplace culture.
- Provide on-site leadership and support during operating hours, including weekends and special events.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improving operations, safety, and guest satisfaction.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within aquatics, recreation, or hospitality.
- Working knowledge of aquatic facility operations, water safety practices, and pool maintenance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Proficiency in English.
- Lifeguard Instructor or Trainer certification (StarGuard Elite preferred).
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- Pool Director Certification (as required by jurisdiction).
- Emergency Action Planning experience.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physically capable of performing lifeguard-related duties and responding to emergencies.
- May be required to be on-call for urgent operational needs.
