Job Summary
The Patient Transporter plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients within the healthcare facility and transporting them to doctors appointments and hospital pickups. This position requires a compassionate CNA certified individual who is dedicated to providing excellent patient care while adhering to safety protocols. The Patient Transporter will work closely with nursing staff, rehab staff and other healthcare professionals to facilitate patient transfers, ensuring comfort and security throughout the process. Will assist therapist with getting patients to and from the therapy gym. clean equipment, perform restorative nursing on patients as ordered and document restorative activities.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients to doctors appointments and when not driving working in the rehab department as a therapy aide. Includes doing restorative nursing and assisting therapist.
- Assist patients with mobility needs, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport.
- Maintain clear communication with nursing staff regarding patient conditions and any special requirements during transport.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures while handling patients.
- Prepare transport equipment and ensure it is in proper working order before use.
- Provide basic life support (CPR) as needed during transport, ensuring prompt action in emergencies.
Skills
- Experience in skilled nursing facility.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Familiarity with patient care practices and an understanding of patient mobility challenges.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient information accurately.
- Excellent driving record.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
