Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking a heavy highway / civil construction estimator, to be based out of our Lorton headquarters, to help grow our backlog of projects. This position will include a variety of project types including, civil, utility, bridge, and structures, ranging from $1 million to over $500 million.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field, preferred
- 4-8 years of relevant work experience, preferably with design-build experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing cost models or estimates within a self-perform preconstruction environment for heavy highway / civil construction
- Demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve a desired objective
- Must have strong interest in construction general contracting and in the design-build delivery process

This position serves as an integral member of the Project Development Team working to deliver complex design-build and bid-build projects in Virginia, Maryland and The District of Columbia. The Chief Estimator leads the estimating team through the project development phase. Key responsibilities include :
