Open Position: Press Operator
Shift: 2nd Shift, 4 PM - 12:30 AM (OT available) MAY TRAIN ON 1st SHIFT, 5 AM - 1:30 PM
Reports To: Press Group Leader
This is an Panel Interview position and will be filled with the most qualified candidate from within or outside the Company.
SUMMARY:
To produce stamped metal parts from either blanks or coils of steel
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have completed required training within the last 2 years, or do so within the first 90 days in the position.
- Must complete and pass a Production Level 2 Operator validation within the first 90 days.
- Must be able to complete Precision Metal-forming Training Certification
- Previous press experience a plus
- Must have an above average Attendance Record, and a good work history record.
- Must have a current, valid Driver License, & able to be forklift certified within 30 days on the job.
- Must be in current position for two years since last transfer unless promotional opportunity
- Newly hired team member must be in current job classification for 9 months. (Exception for promotion)
EXPECTATIONS:
- Safety consciousness and team-oriented
- Monitor parts by doing scheduled checks during runs
- Set dies and conveyors, get gages for run
- Check parts after running strip through die and making first 10 hits
- Put Kanban in pans when running parts
- Check last part off run on gage
- Set coils of steel/aluminum
- Make sure ram height, feed length, and releases are set correct
- Start run after checking parts and having signed off on
- Put tags in pans to identify operator, date ran, and coil numbers
- Move parts to proper holding area after runs are completed
- Clean area around press and press itself, upkeep 5-S
- Return used gages to return gage cart
- Follow all rules/procedures at all times
- Willingness to cross train
