Job Summary
The Manager, Procurement – Indirect manages indirect procurement for Shiseido Americas while maintaining lowest total cost and highest quality and service. This role is responsible for all Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Procurement for all Manufacturing and Distribution Center purchases (i.e. Facilities, Consumables, Temp Labor, Construction, Engineering, CAPEX, Services, Testing, Janitorial, etc.). The manager is directly responsible for the regional spend of approximately $50MM and for leading the category/supplier segmentation and strategy development efforts.

Job Summary
The Manager, Procurement – Indirect manages indirect procurement for Shiseido Americas while maintaining lowest total cost and highest quality and service. The manager is directly responsible for the regional spend of approximately $50MM and for leading the category/supplier segmentation and strategy development efforts.
What You Will Do
- You will lead category segmentation and develop strategies for all materials to allow for further classification and analysis.
- You will lead RFX efforts and negotiate supply agreements where needed.
- You will execute strategies for the category.
- You will be responsible for negotiations and award of business.
- You will execute annual cost savings, cash improvement and action plans to deliver the corporate objectives for year-over-year improvement in both.
- You will be responsible for supporting supplier partnerships through activities such as implementing alternative suppliers, materials and category innovation.
- You will monitor the use of appropriate KPI’s to measure and improve the effectiveness of the key elements of the procurement organization.
- You will generate ideas for new innovations (end to end) in your category to make sure we are paying the lowest possible cost, and it meets the timeline.
- You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop appropriate processes and tools.
- You will achieve Annual Cost of Goods savings targets.
- You will recommend payment term improvements.
- You will support consolidation of supply base.
- You will maintain strategic supplier relationships.
- You will support category segmentation and strategy development and execution.
- You will work cross functionally for any clarification needed on projects (Facilities, Productions, Engineering, R&D, Warehouse, etc.).
- You will collaborate with stakeholders on the scope of work and business requirements.
- You have a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience operating in a procurement role, ideally in cosmetic or consumer goods industry.
- You have a 4-year academic degree, MBA a plus.
- You have procurement certificates (preferred).
- You have a working knowledge of procurement category management.
- You understand the Supply Chain Functions.
- You understand the cosmetic industry, brands and products.
- You understand payment terms, total cost of ownership, etc.
- You understand supplier audit requirements to assess health and quality of suppliers.
- You have experience with material cost modeling.
- You have a basic understanding of commodity markets driving material pricing.
- You drive for results.
- You have strong analytical capabilities.
- You are a customer and consumer focused which includes the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders.
- You have a strong attention to detail.
- You are comfortable dealing with ambiguity and change.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You are proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other associated scheduling, forecasting software packages.
- You have 3-5 years of experience working within a procurement tool (SAP, Ariba etc.) environment at an advanced level.
- You are willing to travel as needed. This includes visiting suppliers to resolve issues etc. for new launches and ongoing business.
