Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cyber Security Analyst to join our dynamic global team in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets and processes. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to potential security threats and incidents, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data. Your primary goal will be to detect, prevent, and mitigate cyber threats while maintaining compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Your place of work will be in North Charleston, SC. A global IT and Security team in Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, and the USA will be by your side.
Main Responsibilities
- Threat Detection and Analysis: Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and network traffic to identify potential cyber threats, security breaches, and suspicious activities. Employ various security tools and technologies to detect and assess vulnerabilities.
- Incident Response: Lead or participate in incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate response and remediation actions.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct and support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on systems, applications, and networks. Identify weaknesses, and recommend and implement appropriate remediation measures to enhance security posture.
- Security Operations: Actively participate in the implementation and maintenance of security controls on-premises and in the Cloud, for Information and Operational Technology environments, using firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, data loss prevention, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Security Monitoring: Utilize security information and event management tools to monitor and analyze security events. Generate actionable reports and recommendations based on the analysis of security data.
- Security Policies and Compliance: Stay updated on the latest industry regulations, standards, and best practices. Assist in developing and enforcing security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Threat Intelligence: Stay abreast of emerging threats and trends in the cybersecurity landscape. Leverage threat intelligence to proactively protect the organization against new and evolving threats.
- Security Policies and Compliance: Assist in developing and enforcing security policies, standards, and procedures. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Training and Awareness: Conduct and support security awareness training for employees to promote a security-conscious culture and reduce the risk of insider threats.
- Security Incident Documentation: Document all security incidents, investigations, and response activities thoroughly, including root cause analysis and remediation steps taken.
- Security Audits and Assessments: Participate in internal and external security audits, assessments, and compliance reviews. Assist in addressing findings and implementing necessary corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the organization’s security posture and propose innovative solutions to enhance security effectiveness.
Skills and Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security , Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), etc.) will be an advantage.
- Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) in a cyber security analyst or related role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, vulnerability scanners, and others.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and respond to security incidents effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new security challenges.
