Description:
The Vice President (VP) of Marketing will join Shoe Sensation, Inc. at a critical time in the retail industry. The opportunity for impact is large and growing, as the company focuses on bringing popular shoe brands to small-town America. The VP of Marketing will own and advance the planning, development, and execution of Shoe Sensation’s marketing, advertising, and e-commerce efforts. This includes direct marketing, branding, advertising, community relations, user experience, customer relationship management, loyalty programs and related areas.
The VP of Marketing will lead a team of marketing professionals, with an emphasis on mentoring, coaching, and developing talent. The VP of Marketing will ensure brand effectiveness by closely collaborating with vendors, merchandising, store operations, real estate, field employees and other departments.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Shoe Sensation currently operates 240 and growing brick-and-mortar stores, as well as a robust and growing e-commerce platform. We need someone to fearlessly lead the charge as we advance in the industry. This individual is:
- Experienced in handling a multi-million-dollar marketing budget.
- ROI driven with an analytical approach to allocating the marketing budget.
- Accomplished across multiple marketing disciplines.
- Advertising through direct channels including direct mail, online, print, radio and social media.
- Private Brand Development.
- Brand Collaboration - Public Relations, Graphic Design, User Experience
- Knowledgeable of E-Commerce practices and has at least 5 years’ experience, including startup and full development.
- Comfortable with customer-facing technology and collaborating across departments (e.g. IT, Buying, Store Operations).
- Experienced in Grand Opening strategies including press releases, live remotes and ribbon cuttings.
- A strong leader capable of developing a team to be on the leading edge of retail marketing.
- Mission-driven to a customer-first attitude and achieving sales goals.
- Committed to an outstanding level of organization, reliability, and independence.
- Creative, innovative, and willing to take risks.
Requirements:
- Must be willing to relocate to Greater Louisville area (relocation assistance provided)
- 10 years in retail and/or restaurant marketing.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing.
- At least 5 years E-commerce experience including startup and full development.
- Ability to interpret market data and lead strategy planning discussions.
- Must have a strong track record of developing and promoting talent.
- Strong planning, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
