POSITION SUMMARY :

Responsible to effectively lead and oversee the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and security of Fielmann USA’s information systems and processes including computer, communication, electronic medical record, optometric, ecommerce, payment processing and office systems. Identify and assess new technologies and applications to determine potential value; promote technology strategies that enhance performance and competitive advantage for all Fielmann USA banners. Evaluate current system and technology and recommend modifications to improve effectiveness. Lead the technical support and training to all areas of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

STRATEGIC DIRECTION

  • Establish direction and execute Fielmann USA’s information systems strategy to achieve business objectives
  • Direct and coordinate professional services such as systems analysis and design, feasibility studies, and programming of information, communication, and office automation systems
  • Streamline and strategize technology-related plans to aid Fielmann USA’s overall operations and ready the organization for future growth
  • Approve the purchase, rent, lease, license or other acquisition of hardware, software or services needed to meet company needs
  • Direct the troubleshooting and monitoring of system performance; to include network and communication maintenance, system security, software installation, back-up performance, office systems and cabling maintenance
  • Maintain pace with technological progress, economic change, optical industry trends, and company needs by directing continual improvements of IT staff, equipment, and procedures
  • Integrate business and IT priorities toward an all-encompassing road map aligned with Fielmann USA’s vision

OPERATIONS DEVELOPMENT

  • Develop and implement departmental action plans including forecasting capital and operating system requirements and establishing policies and procedures to meet Fielmann USA’s objectives
  • Ensure timely and effective communication and periodic reporting to senior leadership on status and progress of strategic projects
  • Develop criteria for evaluating successful execution of IT operations direction and report to senior leadership
  • Build infrastructure that extends digital innovation to Fielmann USA’s services and products
  • Plan, manage, and execute IT projects
  • Improve appropriate IT organizational structure to support needs of the business, including balancing compliment of in-house and outsourced IT services

    • LEADERSHIP & FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Lead the integration of optical lab, center, online, and office systems
  • Represent Fielmann USA in discussions with external partners
  • Maintain knowledge of optical industry trends and competitive landscape regarding IT processes and procedures
  • Establish and maintain effective IT vendor relationships, including the review, negotiation, and approval of contracts for information technology services and equipment
  • Establish and work within defined budgets
