JOB SUMMARY:
The Porter position is responsible for working in the shop supporting the technicians and maintaining the shop by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, clearing debris throughout, empty trash, and other tasks as needed. This position requires you to assist with special projects or duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Sweep, shovel, or vacuum loose debris or salvageable scrap into containers and remove from work areas
- Takes direction from Lead Technicians regarding actions needed to resolve customer satisfaction concerns.
- Fully understands and promotes our Customer Satisfaction Standards.
- Responsible for following company safety rules as well as maintaining job site safety. Escalates any concerns to the Lead Technicians.
- Maybe required to complete necessary documentation relating to service in a timely, neat and accurate manner.
- Move forklifts to various areas in the shop.
- Must be able to help with facility maintenance, i.e., restrooms, breakrooms, etc.
- Will Drive a company vehicle when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working in a tire shop, oil lube or training related to mechanics preferred
- Clean driving record
- Desire to learn about forklift repair including tires, battery/charging system and much more
- Dependable attendance and timeliness
- Ability to work well with others
- Able to work with frequent interruptions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The physical demands and working conditions requirement indicated below are examples of the demands that must be performed in carrying out the essential job functions.
Physical Demands:
Sitting, standing, and walking (up to continuously); frequent use of computer and telephone requiring repetitive finger, hand, and arm movement; occasionally carry office supplies and other miscellaneous items up to 50 pounds. Continuous use of seeing, hearing, verbal communication.
Working Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
