Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution center, focusing on the accurate handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, basic math skills, and experience in shipping and receiving processes.
Duties
- Process incoming shipments by verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring that all packages are accurately labeled and documented.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage stock effectively.
- Perform order picking tasks to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts or manual handling techniques as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of all shipping and receiving tasks.
- Assist in inventory counts and stock replenishment as required.
Experience
- Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role within a distribution center is preferred.
- Familiarity with e-commerce operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in basic math skills for accurate inventory management and order processing.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of packaging standards and shipping regulations is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
