What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter position at Shore Medical Center?
Position Summary
Performs general carpentry repairs to all structures, furniture, doors, windows, and walls throughout the hospital facility. Constructs all of the above as related to operations, maintenance, and new construction.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
• Knowledgeable of carpentry techniques and can perform functions of a carpenter.
• Ability to independently plan work assignments and effectively works with others as needed.
• Ability to inspect, maintain, disassemble, repair, modify, remove, cut, key, pin, and install, as needed: locks, deadbolts, panic hardware, closures, handles, and all other hardware which involve keeping doors throughout the Hospital in working order
• Performs corrective and preventative maintenance and documents records accordingly
• Constructs/repairs to all structures, furniture, doors, windows and walls
• Knows how to interpret blueprints
• Completes assigned P.M.'s every month
• Understands Building Codes.
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
• High School Graduate/GED / Equivalent Work experience
• Vocational training preferred
• Locksmith skills and key management
• Valid NJ Driver's License
• 5 years related work experience
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods with the physical strength to lift heavy objects, carts, or items frequently
• Must have a phone or cell phone and be available for emergency and overtime work
