Help students master skills that are in demand across accounting fields and gain foundational knowledge of broader business concepts. Our students learn to analyze financial information and apply practical accounting practices across business structures. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will advise students, assist with assessment of current instructional methods, develop programs and curricula, participate in Shoreline governance, department, division and campus-related professional activities, and industry-focused advisory meetings. Additionally, this position is expected to support and advise (along with other unit faculty) for the Shoreline Community College chapter of DECA. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching accounting courses including Financial and Managerial Accounting. NOTE : An on-campus presence is required for this position.

The College is currently in mixed (both in-person and online) operations, with the option of some assignments to be completed in an online environment based on program or area needs. If authorized by the College for remote (online) instruction, faculty will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. For on-campus in-person instruction, work is usually performed in a classroom / office space that requires standing and / or sitting for extended periods of time. Faculty typically use computers and media equipment in the work environment.

PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
A part time faculty member becomes eligible for benefits at the beginning of the second consecutive quarter of half time or more employment at one or more Washington state institutions of higher education. Spring and fall quarters are considered consecutive quarters for benefits eligibility. Half time is determined based on each institution's definition of full time.
A part time faculty member must qualify each quarter they teach to maintain eligibility. Once eligible, part time faculty will be notified of their benefit and retirement options.
