The CEO Program provides a fresh start for 16 to 21-year-old students who are seeking an alternative to traditional high school. This instructional position teaches a 10-credit (66% of full-time load) course, "CEO 101: Preparation for Education and Career." Designed for new students, the course provides an introduction to college programs and services, academic success strategies and job readiness skills. Special emphasis is placed on life skills, self-management, problem-solving and goal setting.

Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline from an accredited institution
- Experience teaching related subject matter to diverse students in high school or higher education environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs, learning management systems, and other appropriate instructional technologies
- Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural appreciation and awareness
- Imparting enthusiasm into the instruction of life skills and academic success strategies
- Experience with or willingness to gain experience with teaching and developing coursework online
- Creating rapport and effective professional relationships with at-risk, underserved young adults
- Utilizing knowledge of barriers and challenges facing young adults
- Excellent classroom management with students from diverse backgrounds/abilities
- Effective oral/written communication with individuals at all levels inside and outside the College
- Developing/modifying curriculum both collaboratively and independently
- Working and interacting effectively with colleagues, staff, students, administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Handling difficult or sensitive situations using sound independent judgment within legal guidelines
Physical Work Environment:
The College is currently in mixed (both in-person and online instruction) operations, with the option for some assignments to completed in an online environment based on program or area needs. For remote (online) instruction, faculty will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs. For on-campus in-person instruction, work is usually performed in a classroom/office space that requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Faculty typically use computers and media equipment in the work environment.
Terms of Employment/Salary:
This is a part-time, non-tenured, quarter-to-quarter assignment. Salary is dependent upon the number of contact hours for this assignment as provided in the agreement with the Shoreline Community College Federation of Teachers. Hiring of this position is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President. This position is overtime exempt.
