Shoreline Orthopaedics is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Podiatry team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate patient care, support the podiatry provider in clinical and administrative tasks, and ensure smooth operations within the practice. This role requires excellent communication skills, clinical expertise, and a patient-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support:
- Prepare examination rooms by ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient visits.
- Assist the podiatrist with procedures such as wound care, nail treatments, injections, and orthotic fittings.
- Take patient vitals, medical history, and chief complaints prior to the appointment.
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, post-procedure care, and preventive foot health.
- Sterilize and maintain instruments, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Documents and updates patient information in the medical record.
- Reconciles and documents patient medication logs at each visit
- Cross coverage with other orthopedic specialists in the office
Administrative Duties:
- Assist in scheduling patient appointments and follow-up visits.
- Manage patient records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Facilitate referrals and prescription renewals as needed.
- Answer patient questions and address concerns over the phone or in person.
- Coordinate with other departments or specialties to streamline patient care.
- Ensure compliance with policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains patient rights and confidentiality
Skills and Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification (CMA or RMA) required.
- Previous experience in podiatry or orthopedics is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in EMR systems and basic computer applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to podiatry and Juliana preferred.

Pay: $116,420.00 - $127,890.00 per year
