Job Description



POSITION SUMMARY

Performs complex data entry tasks, while resolving other related operational issues..

Inputs daily sales and accounts receivable payments. Answers phones and handles walk in customers when necessary. Maintains appropriate ledgers, resolves credit balances, account problems, refunds, adjustments, and other account actions.

Coordinates and controls monthly receivables activity, ensuring that billing, collection, and reporting activities occur by the specified deadlines. Manages and maintains a computerized accounts receivable system; manages and maintains department records, reports, and filing systems.

This position involves interaction with both external and internal customers to gather and provide billing information in order to facilitate payment of invoices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

A. JOB DUTIES

  • DATA ENTRY: Record daily sales and deposits with extreme accuracy and attention to detail. Reconciles and balances all postings to ledgers. Distrubutes bi-weekly billing statements. Continously looks for ways to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE: This position will maintain a positive appearance and attitude while appropriately communicating with customers. Customer contact will vary from walk-in customers to collection phone calls on customers that are delinquent with payments.
  • ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE: Responsible for review and accuracy of the accounts receivable ageing for assigned division. Must communicate potential delinquent accounts to appropriate supervisors.
  • TEAM PLAYER: A cooperative attitude with co-workers and supervisers is essential. Positive interactive communication is necessary to assure procedures operate within the framework of organizational goals and objectives.
  • OTHER DUTIES: Performs a variety of general clerical duties, including telephone reception, mail distribution, and other routine functions.

D. ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Any equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience)

1. Education: High School .

2. Experience: A minimum of four years financial experience is preferred. Must have general knowledge of accounting procedures. Must have experience in working with operating systems, databases, hardware and software programs.

3. Licensure/Certification: N/A

4. Other Qualifications: Must be able to work cooperatively with others and communicate in writing and verbally effectively with others. Must possess a high level of PC software and other system applications such as MS Office. Must have demonstrated expertise in many computer software programs, database applications and communication software. Must be able to quickly learn new software applications and apply accounting knowledge to software applications

5. Attendance: Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.

6. English Language: Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
