Job Description
Show Freight Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Driver Safety and Compliance Coordinator to oversee and enhance the safety and compliance standards of our fleet operations. This role will be pivotal in ensuring that our drivers adhere to company policies, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and maintain the highest standards of safety on the road.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driver Oversight: Manage all driver-related activities, including monitoring hours of service (HOS) compliance, coaching, and issuing write-ups for policy violations.
- Safety Management: Promote a culture of safety by analyzing trends, identifying risks, and implementing corrective action plans.
- Compliance Monitoring: Oversee DOT compliance, including violations, drug testing records, and required certifications for all drivers.
- Samsara System Management: Use Samsara to monitor driver performance, vehicle health, and compliance reports, ensuring timely interventions.
- Driver Coaching: Conduct regular evaluations and coaching sessions to address performance issues and provide constructive feedback to drivers.
- Violation Handling: Investigate and address driver violations, ensuring corrective measures are taken promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of driver hours, incidents, and compliance audits to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations, dispatch, and HR to ensure smooth coordination and enforcement of company policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in fleet safety, driver management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency with Samsara or similar fleet management systems.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with coaching and training drivers to improve performance and safety.
