Summary of Position
Responsible for liaising between the hotel sales, the clients and operations departments to plan and execute successful events to meet/exceed revenue profit goals and create repeat business. This position requires a solid food and beverage background and exceptional managerial skills.

Qualifications and Skills
- Outstanding customer service skills and ability to attend to guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- Exceptional communications skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and hotel guests.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and communicate in English to adequately perform the duties of the job
- Knowledge of event planning/hospitality principles and practices
- Ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information in the sales/marketing field
- Ability to travel to area businesses and accounts to solicit new business as needed
- Ability to make decisions based on established policies and procedures and guidance from the General Manager.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying inquiries made by guests, staff and corporate officers.

Education and Experience
- A four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.
- 2 years of experience in a catering sales or convention services position
- Advanced proficiency in the use of Sales, Point of Sales and Property Management Systems as well as Microsoft Word and Excel
Duties and Responsibilities
Event Planning and Coordination:
Confirm and coordinate all aspects of events to include but not limited to food & beverage requirements, timing of events, room set-ups, amenities, audio visual requirements, complete rooming list, type of check in and check out, billing instructions, telephone and internet requirements, entertainment, dcor etc.
Anticipate and efficiently respond to client issues, comments and problems to ensure quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.
Ensure Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) are accurate and provide all relevant information to departments giving them ample time to plan and execute.
Plan and conduct pre- and post-convention meetings with clients and respective departments.
Ensure all site inspections and client visits to the hotel are successful by planning carefully and communicating accurate details in advance to all departments
Effectively communicate all hotel policies, procedures and charges in regard to services being provided to the client.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all property offerings, food & beverage minimums, room rentals, hotel rates, strategies, discounts/promotions, meeting space layout and capacities, catering menus with pricing and any in-house events taking place
Participate in the preparation and coordinating during and after-hour hotel events and fundraisers which includes setting up, interacting with the guests/customers, assisting in clean up and ensuring that the events are successful
Staff Management:
Coordinate and communicate with Sales, Front Office, Catering and Reservations to monitor guest room blocks and special reservation needs as outlined in the BEO.
Holds regular meetings with F&B/Banquet department to review BEOs, upcoming events and other updates as needed
Assist sales staff in developing and continually enhancing relationships with key corporate, business and travel industry accounts to maintain and increase our market share
Fill in and support coworkers and team as needed to ensure efficient operation
Budget and Records Management:
Perform administrative duties relevant to account responsibilities in compliance with corporate guidelines.
Maintain accurate, legible records and files to provide sales history and continuity of quality service.
Performs other related duties as assigned by General Manager.
