What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production 1st shift position at Showdown Displays?
Hours for this position are 6:15 am - 2:30 pm M-F

What you will be responsible for:
- Ability to perform tasks such as cutting, measuring, folding, weeding, and packaging textiles
- Ability to learn various industrial machines or tools throughout a traditional production process
- Maintain a clean, safe organized work area
- Inspect for imperfections in material or threads or discover mistakes that do not meet company quality standards. Once discovered employee is expected to bring these issues to the attention of their manager or supervisor if not able to be resolved by the individual
- Ability to learn production workflow tracking software (TCM)
- Maintain records of finished products and defective materials
- Meet or exceed all production goals/quotas
- Comply with all safety standards for operation
- Organizing Ability – simultaneously handle several assignments, prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, set and meet goals and objectives
- Quality – maintain accuracy and thoroughness, look for ways to promote quality while increasing productivity at the same time and monitor work to ensure quality
- Perform special work including re-packaging, labeling and assembly operations, as required
- Ability to work occasional overtime as required to meet customer needs
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor
What will you bring to the table (Skills/Experience Required):
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Ability to use fractional measurements
- Accurately set up and operate machines
- Capability to work with heavy and large material
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple English instruction, short correspondence, and memos
- Mathematical skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Reasoning ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Capable of fixing minor problems and use mechanical abilities to adjust machinery
- Manual dexterity is needed to manipulate materials
- Must be able to follow written instructions, read a tape measure, and do simple math calculations
- Ability to clearly express ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form with good listening and comprehension skills
- Build rapport up, down and across the organization and establish collaborative relationships to achieve objectives and display empathy and tolerate diverse viewpoints
- Manage difficult or emotional customer situations in a professional manner and respond promptly to customer needs and requests for assistance and incorporate customer feedback to improve service
- Exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views and give and welcome feedback
- Contribute to building a positive team spirit and support everyone’s efforts to succeed
- Ability to follow policy and procedures and complete tasks correctly and on time while striving to continuously build knowledge and skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in a production environment and will frequently need to lift up to 50lbs, occasionally 50-100 lbs. Also need to be able to push/pull up to 40 lbs frequently and on occasion 41-100 lbs.
