Role: Vice President of Finance
Reports to: President
Direct Reports: Senior Accountant, Accounting Team
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Vice President of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring strong financial performance, strategic planning, budgeting, and compliance. This role leads the restructuring of the accounting department, optimizes financial processes, and enhances reporting and analytics.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Five years previous management and accounting experience preferred
2. Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Business Administration or a related study
3. CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required
4. Proficient in Microsoft Suite Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
RESPONSIBILITES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS include but are not limited to the following:
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support company growth and profitability.
- Partner with the President to ensure supplier financial agreements align with company goals.
- Oversee cash management, forecasting, and capital investment planning.
Accounting Department Oversight & Restructure
- Lead and restructure the accounting department for improved efficiency.
- Delegate day-to-day accounting functions to the Senior Accountant while maintaining high-level oversight.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and quarterly bank covenants.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
Supplier & Retailer Financial Management
- Work with Sales Leadership to manage and improve retailer payment structures and terms.
- Oversee supplier pricing, incentive structures, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure financial analysis supports pricing strategies, promotional allowances, and rebate programs.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Monitor financial performance metrics and variances, reporting significant findings to leadership.
- Implement and maintain cost control measures to maximize profitability.
Technology & Process Optimization
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions to optimize accounting and financial reporting.
- Work with IT leadership to improve financial data security and automation.
- Oversee financial software upgrades and ERP system improvements.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to all tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and legal advisors on financial reporting and compliance matters.
- Oversee financial risk management strategies.
Salary : $150,000 - $200,000
